@Vince - thanks for the comment. Its mind-boggling sometimes the stuff I see I just saw three ads that were obviously targeted but way off the mark. More botched geo-targeting and even less relevance. Just this AM, I read this article which touches on the move to targeting and away from premium display content.

Its a short but good read!

yea, you would think that a place like facebook would be a gold-mine for targeting but I get the same things you get, stuff that for some reason makes no sense according to what I have on my facebook profile. It seems that companies are not only wasting money, but they are not reaching to the right consumers. I wonder if the "gay man who lives in San Francisco" gets your single men and gutter cleaning ads??? Or maybe he gets the "single-women skyscraper" ads...You would think something so easy would be hard to miss, especially for a company like Facebook.

“nothing is more abstract than reality,”

I think it has to do with the fact that the most bizarre stuff you experience is in reality and not in your imagination.

You're a good guy, Stemato. Keep your head up. I had no idea we were in the kiddies-who-lost-their-pops-early club together. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. May your father rest in peace.

Best always,
Steph

Once, a long time ago, a teacher one instilled this wisdom in me: there are goals that we easily attain that we most often don't even realize, or at best take for granted. There are goals that we must work for, but we achieve with effort. And then, there are the goals that we strive for, that we can never attain. Many call them dreams, but these are the goals that make people great in their attempts.
